Breaking Bondi: Stuff you need to know

OK. So, you've already packed mini-Edward, your Twi DVDs and your fake fangs (yes, we know Twi-vamps  don't have fangs, but when else do you get to wear them??) and now you are left wondering... where the hell are we even staying anyway???
Never fear, the deets are here. I'm going to compile everything you need to know (and plenty of twi-waffle that you can probably live without) into one mammoth blog post including a minute by minute account of what I plan to be doing from 9am on the 16th until we stumble, dazed and dazzled (and needing to change our TENA Lady pads) out of the Gold Class cinema on the 17th. Grab a cup of tea.... or a stiff drink. This could take a while!


Where the hell are we staying?

We (and by 'we' I mean Belinda... thanks Belinda!) have booked three rooms (each with three bedrooms, single beds have been requested) and one Penthouse apartment at:
Meriton Serviced Apartments,

Check in is at 2pm

Upon arrival, advise the staff that you are with the "Breaking Bondi" group so that they can direct you accordingly. I will provide them with our room allocations so that no one gets lost! Make sure, though, that you leave the room key with reception when you are coming and going so that your room buddies don't get locked out!


Who are my room buddies and do they snore? 
I have made sure that everyone has their very own Twi-Buddy in their room so that no one is left whimpering alone after what is certain to be one of the most thrilling events of our existence. Feathers people. We will see feathers!
The only Twi-chick flying solo is Rebecca. Bec is moving to Preston from Melbourne, shortly before Breaking Bondi, with her hubby and little girl. We should feel very privileged to have her along for the ride as she will be 34wks pregnant! Yes! We have a Breaking Bondi Mascot! Tess and Julie, I have popped Bec into your room so that she has a chance to meet you both, considering you will only be a suburb away from her new Sydney home!  I know you will take her under your wing!

What the hell is going on in that Penthouse??

In order for all 21 of us to party together we needed at least one large space to congregate in. I'm planning a party to end all parties little Twi-party of sorts to keep us entertained until we leave for the midnight session. So, join us in the penthouse anytime after 4pm for drinks, nibbles and mayhem. Twilight theme. Goes without saying, natch.

Dinner in the Penthouse will be take away Italian from Arthur's, just below us at Bondi Junction. I'll phone ahead the day before to let them know we'll be placing a big order, and post a proposed menu here on the Bitten blog. There will be plenty of room around the table, couch and patio for everyone to eat together. When you can, please let me know if you intend on being at the Penthouse for dinner, around 6:30-7pm. What can I bring for the Penthouse party?
If you are planning to join us in the party room it would be great if you could bring drinkies or nibbles to share with the other Twi-chicks. If you like a drink, then maybe something to contribute to the punch bowl, or a softdrink if, for you, Oct-sober carries on till November. As far as food goes, some fruit for a platter, sweet treats or savoury bites would be great. Best to contact me first so there aren't too many double ups... and of course,
RED features highly on the list of food and drink requirements ;)

  


How do I get a "Breaking Bondi T-Shirt made?
Easy. Send me your tee, with your name and "Team" preference, together with $5.00 before mid October. I'll then iron on the transfer and have it ready for you to pick up at the apartments.

I have mocked up several options for both Team Jacob and Team Edward and they have been posted willy nilly on facebook. I will post them here soon, with design numbers so that you can choose the one you like best. They are pretty freaking awesome if I do say so myself, so don't go wearing them when you are alone. Twi-fans will do some crazy shit to get their hands on some cool Twi merch! Thankfully we will be running in a pack during "Breaking Bondi"! Safety in numbers!


Party? Urgh! I'd rather shop! And I'm not travelling all that way to eat dinner in the Penthouse! I'll have no chance of running into a Bondi lifeguard if I'm 20 stories up!!!
Don't worry. Eating Italiano just because Bella did in Twilight, surrounded by as many Twi-themed objects that I can carry up 20 floors may not be for everyone! I understand! Want to hit the streets of Bondi and eat out? Go for it? Rather stay in your room relaxing in a bubble bath grabbing the first moments of peace you have managed to steal in 5 years? Be our guest. It's your precious time away, use it any way you wish! Just make sure you meet us at the cinemas by 11:30pm, or else I'll send the wolves out to hunt you down!


Carley's Itinerary - Pffft! She wishes she could be this organised!!!
Anyone who knows me will testify to the fact that I have Buckley's and None chance of sticking to this proposed timetable. But, for the love of all that's holy, I'm gonna try! I'm posting it here so that you will know where to find me,  whenever you arrive, or wish to be found! I'm mindful that everyone will be arriving at varying times throughout the day, arvo and evening. So, if I manage to stick to the schedule then those who enjoy crowds, or hate being alone, can find us and jump right in!


9am:         School drop off. Hi five self, turn up the volume and DRIVE, DRIVE, DRIVE!
10:30am:  Arrive at Bondi, park at Meriton. Act natural as I introduce myself and the Breaking Bondi
                 instructions to be left at counter. Catch bus to beach
12:30pm: Grab lunch somewhere on the main drag
1:30pm:   Catch bus back to apartments
2:00pm:   Check in
2:20pm:   Shower, hair, makeup, fangs, t-shirt
3:00pm:   Set up for Penthouse party
4:00pm:   Twi-fans arrive at Penthouse... mayhem ensues
6:30pm:    Order dinner
7:00pm :   Eat Dinner
8:30pm:    Chill out in front of the 55" screen and watch Eclipse (instead of at cinema).
10:30pm:  Freshen up for the big event
11:00pm:  Leave apartments and head to the cinema
11:45pm:  Have a silent moment to myself in the seats inside cinema.Mentally prepare for onslaught
                 of  hotness.
12:01:      Scream, Hyperventilate. Cry. Pee pants. Die. Twice. Come back to life. It's time!
3:00am:   Try to sleep. Fail. Sit up all night talking about the visual feast we just witnessed.
8:00am:   Wake, Dress, pack car, seek breakfast.
9:15am:   Check out and head to Cinema for the encore screening
10:00am:  Do it all again!!!!!

The Countdown Begins... Again!

Bless me, Carlisle, for I have sinned. It has been months and months since my last blog post. I have taken down the Twi-posters in my office. I no longer wear my Cullen Crest earrings in my second earring hole religiously. In short, I have allowed real life to get in the way of my Twi-life. One would be forgiven for thinking that I had moved on, but one couldn't be further from the truth. I've just been in hibernation, living through the winter of my Twi-soul and I'm ready now to embrace the thaw!
In fact, my life has resembled pages 85 to 92 in New Moon. Completely blank, save for a few exciting,  'bold type' events to punctuate my otherwise empty existence as the months have gone by.  Yes, mini-Edward is still my steadfast and ever loyal companion. But, if truth be told, I really have just been like Bella, sitting in her chair, month after month, staring out the window longingly, waiting for the return of that which I crave. The return of the only thing that will cure this aching heart.
That "thing" , of course, is the next Twilight Saga Movie release, and I am ready and waiting to run through the town square, straight through a freezing water fountain and into it's pale, sparkling arms.
Of course, I'm never alone in my struggles. This year, I have 22 other obsessed and desperately addicted souls walking this often misunderstood path with me. Together, we shall descend upon an unsuspecting town on November 16th for a two day event that will be nothing short of epic. Locals beware, here comes "Breaking Bondi"!

In the coming weeks this will be the place for my Twi-chicks to come for all the "Breaking Bondi" info. For now, I'm off to listen to my Breaking Dawn Audio book bed. Sweet dreams Twi-peeps!

Strange Goings On....

So last night's post was a cry for help....a desperate woman in need of desperate help.  My OB 1 came to my rescue and told me to put that FUCKING BOOK DOWN and pick up a SMEYER and to do it now!

As a result of the Intervention I updated my status on FB declaring that I was saved, then went away to open that beloved copy of Eclipse and immerse myself in Forks. It was then I walked past where The Historian was sitting, calling me, and I did the unspeakable....I picked it up and sat down and kept reading it! OME what have I done! I tell you, I was drawn to it like the characters in the story are drawn to that evil yet intriguing man Vlad Tepes.   There wasn't anything I could do! I was locked in to it's tractor beam.....I was sooo close to finishing it and I really wanted to know what would happen, so I'm sorry Carls I lied. I sat on the couch reading through something like 1100 flipping pages intently until it happened! I finished....woah!! First I felt triumphant for mananging to make it through a book laden with sooo much history...but then I realised, "What I am now left to do?" and without saying, we all know what that is! With that in mind I went to bed ready to dive into that 3rd book in the morning.......

But I awoke this morning to a little note from bud Carls alerting me to something extra-ordinary. It reminded me of something that happened to me about 2 weekends ago.

I read the post and well it seems a little far fetched but possible...my mum's family dates back to William the Conquerer so who knows!! According to genealogist Anastasia Tyler the Prince brothers William and Harry are distant cousins to Rob and Vlad is the princes way distant Uncle! Read the whole post and decide for yourself at the link above!

I guess my thoughts are sort of mixed about the truth to this but if you research things far enough people are all connected in some way.....right??? What does this have to do with me well I was thinking maybe I'm experiencing some wierd sub concious twi addiction or someone or something is trying desperately to drag me back into Forks?   The book that I have just finished as I've explained was all about the history of Vlad Tepes and a group of historians on a search to find his tomb.....and I couldn't stop reading it! I was living in this post war era wondering where the quest would take us next Instanbul, Bulgaria, Romania....it was a great read.  But seeing this post makes me think I was supposed to finish that book before getting back to Twilight and maybe there was something more to me reading it in the first place...!

CAUTION: What I am about to show you may lead you to believe that there are strange things in the atmosphere trying to force me and Twilight back together!

It was a sunny winters Sunday morning too nice to stay inside...I convinced DH that a drive was called for and we set out toward the historic town of Windsor...well we turned this way and that and found ourselves in the sleepy little town of Kurrajong!  It was a nice drive and in turning down the main street into the Kurrajong village I openly admired a little church on the corner and little old cemetery that was lying at the back of it.  We pulled into the town and not much was going so we decided to head back to Windsor for lunch...as we went back past the church I said to DH "it would be cool to go have a poke around the old cememtery" with that he turned around we got and stretched our legs and took in the beautiful view that was down one side over looking the valley.  We enjoyed the view for a little while then we headed back up to read some of the head stones....

The first headstone I laid my eyes was in rememberance of Edward Cullen! WHAT THE FUCK!!! EDWARD CULLEN?????????

I couldn't believe it....why was this happening....I rubbed my eyes like you see in animated films then my eyes popped out of their sockets!  Once I got over that I had found an 109 year old headstone with Edward Cullens name on it....I read the rest.......

(Note from Carls: Poor Edward Cullen. He must be rolling in his grave! No chance to rest in peace with me uttering his name out loud a hundred times a day!!!!)

WTF! Check those words out! Not only does it make reference to the soul that Edward Cullen doesn't think he has but the guy died the year that our Edward was born!   I sent the picture of this headstone to Seth Stephanie Meyers brother via his web master page with the hope that she might get a glance of it and maybe even have a giggle but I haven't heard anything back! Will keep you posted!

Lets do the time warp again.......

I think I'm living in a time warp...where has the last month gone?? Can anyone explain the phenomenon that has just occurred in my life???

I swear it was only yesterday that I waited patiently for my twi buds Carls and Fi at the candy bar with two buckets of coke and a 44 gallon drum of popcorn  (apparently these sizes are large???? why at the cinemas is everything like 5 times the size??)

 Anyway where was I.....yeah.....waiting patiently to all go in and see the "Intimate Q & A" with Kristen Stewart and "Taylor Lautner".  Speaking of which was fun, we managed to get a glimpse of the sibling type relationship that Taylor and Kirsten have....as for host Richard "the Dick" Wilkinson he was atrocious! He got the names of the movies wrong he asked the same question like 3 different ways, clearly didn't do any research on the topic at all and it was so obvious by Kristen "Hot Legs" Stewart's body language that she totally wasn't interested!  It was only when the fans asked her questions did we really get a glimpse of the real person.   Unfortunately the only thing that stands out from that night was something that The Dick said when talking to the fans along the red carpet it went like this......."G'day there...where are you from" This cute bubbly excited girl yells Penrith and for some reason at that moment there was a lull in the crowd and The Dick says into the mic....and I quote " well hahhaha that shut them up!!!" Fi, Carls and myself nearly died!!! Who is he to judge a young girl by where she lives! The west makes up nearly 75% of Sydney thanks Richard and not everyone who lives out here/there are bogans!!! UHHHHH that just topped it off for me....I wish Gen Begg had done the interview god knows it would of been sooo much better! 

Did I mention that Gen aka SydneyTwiMum made it in to the Q & A?? I know right amazing! Thanks to everyone who jumped on the Let SydneyTwiMum interview Taylor and Kristen campaign...Nova got wind of the following she had and presented her a ticket into the interview which was aired on Channel 7 the night of the interview! Some of her up and close photos are below.  Pretty awesome hey?!

The infamous lip bite

So whats been going on since then??? Sooo much there has been new stills.....the soundtrack has been released, by now everyone has read and re-read the Short second life of Bree Tanner......there been some new photos of Rpatz and all the cast...it was Edward Cullens birthday on the 21/6 and Summit officially released info that Breaking Dawn will be released in two films with the first one released on 18/11/11.....the list could go on and on....

Honestly I don't think I missed any of it but something is a miss a month ago I thought I was back and I was (I'm sure) until that thing called life starting tugging at my shirt and then my limbs then before I knew it I was utterly consumed by it - I want that feeling back that excitement that buzz...that tingly adrenaline kind of feelilng.....I don't want my twi love to go from hot sweaty "i wanna do it all the time" lust to a boring I'm going to bed early "I've got a headache" marriage...a week out from New Moon last year I needed rehab I was a junkie searching everywhere for a hit....literally shaking if I hadn't found or seen or heard anything twi related after only 5 mins!   This time I've been too mature about it all...I'm not growing up am I? I'm not getting over it am I?? I can't be...surely not...this can't be happening....I need to blame something.....or someone......I won't blame that someone cause I do love him and don't want a divorce! Soooo I know I'll blame.......The Historian! 

How has this guy the real Vlad Tepes....got me distracted....ughhhhh

The more and more I think about it the more and more I realise it is this book. Its a challenging historical read about historians and they're quest to discover the tomb of Vlad Tepes the Impaler - DRACULA (wooo la di da).  Its a great read and I'm impressed with myself that I've nearly finished but no matter how much I read it, it just doesn't seem to end.......a bit like this post!!!

WHOOOP WHOOOP *RED LIGHT FLASHING* INTERVENTION PEOPLE! I NEED AN INTERVENTION......please post your ideas to help me SNAP THE FUCK OUT OF IT!!!

Ally, Ally, Ally, I hate to admit it but I kind of know what you are talking about. No, I have not been reading the historian... but I did give Wuthering Heights a go. As a matter of fact, I also found myself stuck in a non-twilight-but-slightly-related-cause-it's-still-about-vampires reading frenzy for several months... actually, if I am  honest, since New Moon last year. In fact, I have become a "Series Whore", lusting after and devouring series after series of hot, sexy, vampy characters and their chaste sexual (or flat out R rated in the case of the Sookie books) encounters!!!
But that's not all!!! In my attempt to feed my addiction fill the void that was left after New Moon I discovered the world of Fan Fiction. Now, there's some hot, heavy r-rated very interesting, entertaining and addictive stories out there and they should come with a warning. Get too involved in this world and all of a sudden you won't recall where Breaking Dawn ends and Renesmee and Jacob's story begins... YES Twi-crack addicts, people write this stuff... and some of it is good. Really good. The kind of good that makes you (and your DH ) VERY happy you discovered it ;)

So,  Ally, I feel your pain. I too was grieving the loss of my daily Twi High that found me passionately glued to my TWEET DECK waiting for an update, a high-quality movie still, a leaked scene, an interview with the presh, a panty ripping, heart stopping close up of Robward in a meadow...

You ask me how to get it back?

 

PUT DOWN THAT FUCKING BOOK AND PICK UP A SMEYER NOW!!!

 

I mean it. Stop reading that mature, historical, literary classic right this second!!!! You can always come back to it, I promise. It will still be there after the rush of Eclipse is over. It's time to channel your inner 17yr old - yes her! You know the one! She pants at the mere mention of Edward's cool, marble lips. She quivers and shivers when Edward takes his icy fingers and traces the line from her chin, to her neck and along her collar bone. She heaves lustily when Edward hitches her leg over his hip on that huge golden bed of his... Jogging any memories? I promise you. This is the key to a successful 'interforksion'. You have to go back there. You have to pick up that dog eared, coffee stained, much loved copy of Eclipse and lose yourself in Forks all over again.

 

It worked for me. I am half way through the book and baby, I am back!!!!

Hello me again found a truck load more photos of Tay Tay and KStew fun jet boating today.....oh and did you know they also crammed in a trip to Featherdale? I wish I had decided to go out there today rather than tackle Saturday crowds at the Aquarium and Wildlife world this weekend!!!
